Week 10 Term 3

Week 10 started off with just as much excitement as Week 9 ended. Trolley fever was very evident helped along by the making of our own Tim Tam trolleys in the style of those sold at the Suter cafe. Thanks to Thomas's mum for making this possible.
After school lots of us gathered at the top of Trafalgar Street to race our trolleys again, but this time against the mayor and Ned's dad.  We also spotted a few more stars from the film. Lots of fun and quite a few sausage sizzles later we made our way home.

We continued our maths unit on measurement this time looking at ways to measure capacity. Our non-standard units included water, sand and rice crispies.

In ICT we learned how to make a simple 3 step animation using FlickerBlox. Have a go using this link
http://www.flickerblox.com. We will be attempting some more animation next term.

On Friday we helped out our Room 5 buddies with their inquiry topic. They had been experimenting with different play dough recipes and we rated them according to smell, colour and texture. They will be selling the most popular types next term.

We were all very creative on Friday making wacky ears to celebrate the release of the Topp Twins new book " Do Your Ears Hang Low?" during the Nelson Arts Festival. You can see them at the Granary
Festival CafĂ©, Sat 27 Oct 11am, cost $5, book in advance. The closing date for entering your ears into the competition is Thursday 25th Oct so plenty of time to make them even wackier. Take your entries along to the library.

Friday was also a very sad day for us as we had to say good bye to Maree who has become very much part of our classroom over the last 5 weeks. But some how I think we will be seeing her on a regular basis next term...hooray!
