We are a Year 1 class at Nelson Central School, Nelson, New Zealand. Most of us are 5 years old,
except for Tracy our teacher who is a bit older. This blog lets you know what we have been up to
and what our next learning steps will be. We love to find out what people think about our class
so please get typing and leave us a comment.

Week 11 Term 3

This week was our last week of a very busy term. On Wednesday we shared our folk dancing skills with our families and we even got them to join in with us. Take a look at the following Movie Maker clip from the performance. We had some other videos shot from a camera but they are too big to upload here.  I will play them before school during week 1 of next term.

On Thursday and Friday Tracy was working with us individually whilst Dean taught the class all about mammals and birds. We also had a visit from some ex Room 11 children, now in Year 2, who returned to share their picture books with us.

Friday was also a sad day for us as we had to say good bye to Katharina. She has worked in classes across the whole school but has spent a significant amount of time with us in Room 11. She has been part of our room since Term 1 and we will certainly miss her next term. Good luck and thank you for all your support, we look forward to arranging a skype story time with you when you are back in Germany.

Finally check out the new tab  to "Our Note Page". This is an online board where we can leave notes to each other to say "hi" to our Room 11 friends and tell them what we are doing in the holidays or tell Tracy about our learning.
Who will be the first to try it out......?

I will send out a general email later in the holidays to let you know what is going on in Term 4.

Have a safe and happy holiday.
Tracy
